Professor Ronald Tuninga

Prof. Ronald S.J. Tuninga is Vice-President Academic Affairs and Chair of the Academic Advisory Panel at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences. He is Emeritus Professor and the former Pro-Vice-Chancellor International and Enterprise and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law at Kingston University, London, UK. He is also Honorary Dean at AVT Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark. He has been the Director of the PhD Program and Professor of International Management and Marketing at the Open University of the Netherlands, Visiting Professor at various international business schools, and is the former Director Dean and Professor of International Business and Marketing at the Maastricht School of Management. 

Prof. Tuninga has been involved in many international projects funded by the Dutch government, the World Bank, European Union, United Nations and other international organisations. From 2007 until 2009, he was the President of the International Management Development Association. He was the Vice-Chair of the International Management Board (Board of Trustees), Chair of the Faculty of Assessors and a member of the IAAB of the Association of MBAs (AMBA – UK). He has been a member or chair of more than 50 AMBA assessment teams to business schools around the globe. He has been a consultant for companies, such as Melitta North America and GE, and a partner of the Holland Consulting Group.

Dr. Jan-Albert Dop

Jan-Albert Dop, PhD, graduated from Leiden University in Cultural History. Since 1978, he has worked for a number of companies as (interim) manager and consultant to top management in the field of strategy and communications, often in crisis situations or periods of rapid change. He is an experienced company spokesman and crisis manager. He also has extensive experience as a director/board member of non-profit organisations, including the Dutch campus of an American university, and he is familiar with the political arena of the Netherlands.

Rauf Abdul, PhD, MSc, MBA

Rauf Abdul, PhD, MSc, MBA, holds a PhD in Human Resource Management from UT in addition to an MBA and MSc in Business. His main focus in research is on issues related to Human Resource Management (HRM). Currently, he is interested in research on HR competencies for future industries, such as competency profiles required for the smart industry (industry 4.0). He loves teaching and supervising graduate and postgraduate students for their graduation assignment/final projects. He contributes actively to Wittenborg's HRM department in the screening and hiring process of academic staff for various schools of the university, where he has developed and implemented various HR strategies and procedures. He has presented many research papers at several international conferences in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. He is conversant with the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education system, and sits also on different assessment panels for educational programmes and institutional accreditation assessments.

Peter Birdsall

Peter Birdsall, MA.ed, graduated from Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in 1997. After this, Peter continued his studies through the UK Open University, completing a Master of Arts in Education Management. His degree was carried out during a period of employment at IJselland University in the Netherlands, as director of the international office at the Deventer Business School, and focused on three main areas: Peer Mentoring in (International) Higher Education, Curriculum Development in Higher International Education, Management of Higher Education.

Maggie Feng, MSc

Maggie Feng MSc is a Member of the Executive Board of the Wittenborg University Executive and, is CEO at the Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in Apeldoorn (Headquarter). Wittenborg also opened its new location in Amsterdam in 2015 and her Vienna location in 2017, following by London in 2019. Although small, with more than 1000 students in 2019 growth is around 15% per year during the past 7 years, and it is one of the most international privately funded higher education institutes in the Netherlands, aiming to become a top ranking institute to contribute to Human Capital & Talent development. Students and staff at Wittenborg are from over 100 different countries/Regions.

Karen Penninga

Karen Penninga has been a member of the Executive Board since 2015 and has special responsibility for Strategy and Policy within the institute. She has experience in many disciplines, including HRM, finances, management, marketing, communication, student applications and registrations and facilities. Karen has worked for Wittenborg since 2004.

Santosh Aryal

Santosh Aryal comes from Hetauda, Nepal. He completed his education up to university in the same city. In search of better education, Santosh came to Wittenborg University in the Netherlands to top up his Bachelor degree. Here he studied International Business Administration. He also completed his internship at Wittenborg University and after completing the IBA degree, he began working as the Student Register since 2008.

Lucy Omwoha, MsC

Lucy Omwoha, MSc is a Msc graduate in event management, with strong background in marketing, events and hospitality gained from Bachelor’s degree in IBMS (International Business Management-Netherlands) and Hospitality Management (Institute of Commercial Management-UK). She is ambitious with proven experience of working in multidisciplinary environments. 

Adeyemi Banjo, MSc, MBA

Adeyemi Banjo, MSc, MBA joined Wittenborg University in 2010 where he has been lecturing to date. He currently gives lectures in the fields of Communications, Informatics, Entrepreneurship and Marketing. ' I started my career in 1991 working in marketing for the book publisher African University Press. I later worked for media company OPEN Communications in Nigeria. I have lecturered at Saxion University, helped start up marketing company JAA with three other partners and was involved in the personalization project of the ABNAMRO online banking system. In 2008 he left JAA to work as an analyst and researcher for Huisvolmuziek and in 2009 started his own company which specializes in marketing research and personalization.

Daniel O' Connell

Daniel O'Connell, After in-house training and work-experience in Graphic Photography in the USA in the later part of the ‘70s, I returned to London and entered a 3-year course in Homeopathy. Following a number of years of private practice and an entrepreneurial project in natural foods, I returned to Dublin, Ireland in 1989/1990 and completed a Diploma in TEFL. Since arriving in Holland in 2002, I have been teaching English at Wittenborg.'

Leo Dana PhD

Dr Leo Dana, started at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in 2019. Previously, he was an employee of McGill University and Concordia in Montreal, and deputy director of the IB MBA at Nanyang. Also, he is a Professor at Montpellier Business School and a member of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation chair, which is part of LabEx Entrepreneurship - University of Montpellier, France. This “laboratory of excellence” is funded by the French government in recognition of high-level research initiatives in human and natural sciences.

Myra Qiu

Myra Qiu, MSc, FHEA, is originally from Qingdao, China graduated with her Bachelor Business Administration in International Logistics Management at HAN University of Applied Sciences. She then went on to complete her MSc in Event Management and a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, a joint programme with the University of Brighton and Wittenborg University. Myra is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom.

She started working at Wittenborg since February 2014 and is a key member of the teams of Event Management, China Desk, and Education Operations. In addition she also coordinates the Academic Partnership Programmes with universities in Europe and Asian countries. 

Dadi Chen PhD

Dadi Chen, PhD, graduated from Leiden University and from Xi’an Jiaotong University in Foreign Linguistics & Applied Linguistics/Cross-Cultural Communication. He is a highly motivated teacher, researcher, and project coordinator. He has extensive experience in intercultural communication and international cooperation, project design, and social media promotion. He is also a freelance writer (in both Chinese and English) and photographer. Dadi has also experience at the Euro-China International Economic & Cultural Exchange Centre as a director. He is teaching Critical Perspectives in Education and Leadership and Management in Education at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences.

Dr Brigitte Nicoulaud

Dr Brigitte Nicoulaud received her MBA and PhD from the French business school Bradford. Her experience encompasses teaching, advising, and education in management. She taught Advertising in the programs of Aston MBA and Executive Education. She is a specialist in MBA, post-experience, and PG. Experienced in the development and implementation of MBA curricula in all delivery modes as well as strategic leadership, she acts as an external advisor and external examiner on MBA programmes. 

Dr Carol Kaufman-Scarborough

Dr Carol Kaufman-Scarborough has taught at the Camden Campus of Rutgers University for over 30 years. She is a committed teacher, author, and advocate for her students as a marketing professor at the School of Business. Following her role as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies at the School of Business, in addition to her research and teaching responsibilities, Carol became Director of the Business Leader Development Program in Summer 2012.

Teun Wolters, PhD

Teun Wolters, PhD – ‘Since September 2011 Dr Teun Wolters has held the position of applied research professor of Corporate Sustainability at Wittenborg University. This involves setting up research, lecturing, writing, supervision and course development. I continue to be interested in research in environmental and sustainability strategies; management consulting in international chains starting in developing countries; Executive Director of a Dutch NGO in these fields. Simultaneously, he has worked with Statistics Netherlands in the area of the measurement of the New Economy, and was consultant with TNO and EIM.'

Clare Weeden PhD

Clare Weeden, PhD, is a Principal Lecturer in Tourism and Marketing at the School of Sport and Service Management, University of Brighton, UK. After twelve years in the international hospitality industry, and on completion of an MBA, Clare entered academia at the University of Brighton. In 2008, she completed her PhD at the University of Glasgow. Following the publication of a monograph in 2013 entitled, "Responsible Tourist Behaviour", she co-edited 'Managing Ethical Consumption in Tourism' with Dr Karla Boluk. She is the Tourism Editor for Tourism and Hospitality Research (Sage), and on the Editorial Board of Tourism in Marine Environments (Cognizant Communication). Clare has reviewed articles for many international journals, including Annals of Tourism Research, the European Journal of Marketing, and Tourism Management. Clare's research interests focus on responsible tourism, ethical consumption in tourism, marketing for SME tour operators, and the ethics of cruise tourism. She has examined PhDs that explored the role of values in luxury hotel consumption, cruise passengers' perceptions of destination image, and the significance of romance in marketing ocean cruise tourism. She is an experienced PhD supervisor and welcomes inquiries from potential candidates interested in exploring the nexus of ethics, tourism, consumer behaviour, and marketing.

Joop Remmé PhD

Joop Remmé, PhD, graduated from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in Philosophy. From his competence and within a network of professionals, he offers services around stakeholder management, Code of Conduct/Corporate Values and Integrity Management. He is experienced at creating and facilitating learning networks and stakeholder networks, also experienced at preparing managers for corporate social responsibility and sustainability, focusing on stakeholder dialogue. He also teaches at the Maastricht School of Management, at locations such as Kigali, Kuwait, Nanjing, and Cairo. Between 2005 and 2015, this was mainly done abroad, from China to Peru, from Malta to Uganda. Since 1998, Joop has contributed to management development at a variety of companies, such as ABN AMRO, Shell, and Unilever. He has been responsible for management at the Business Ethics Network of the Netherlands, the Society for Organisational Learning, NL, and Transparency International, NL.

Kriszta Rostas MSc

Kriszta Rostas, MSc, in 2015 she obtained her master diploma at Utrecht University in International Business and Economics on International Management track. In parallel with her master program, she has worked as project assistant and researcher at the lectureship of International Business at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences. At wittenborg University she is conducting research for the education department.

Gabor Molnar PhD

Gabor Molnar, PhD, is an experienced senior business development professional with a demonstrated history of working in the high-tech industry, skilled in Business Development, Sales, Sales Management, Strategic Partnerships, and International Sales. Gabor has a strong academic background with a PhD focused on Interdisciplinary Telecommunications. Research interests include technology innovations, data science, and applied artificial intelligence.

Muhammad Ashfaq PhD

Muhammad Ashfaq PhD, is highly motivated individual with the goal of empowering people by giving them the correct education and training in a variety of disciplines to raise their standard of living.

Peter Odgers, M.Phil

Peter Odgers, M.Phil, has written three books in the areas of hospitality operations and management one of which has been adopted as a standard text by the HCIMA and other UK academic bodies. His Master of Philosophy in International Hospitality Management was awarded by the University of Buckingham in 1996. Peter Odgers has a broad experience of the hospitality industry. At the University of Brighton he is senior lecturer in hospitality management and a guest Lecturer on the MSc and BA degree programmes offered jointly with the University of Brighton at Wittenborg.

Adam Jones

Adam Jones is a Senior Lecturer of Business Strategy and Marketing within the School of Service Management at the University of Brighton and a Guest Lecturer on MSc International Events Management, MSc International Hospitality Management, and MSc International Tourism Management at Wittenborg. Adam has a wealth of knowledge of the travel and tourism industry gained from working both in destinations and at a senior strategic level in a FTSE 250 company. He started his career in the travel industry working as a tour guide rising to the position as Head of Marketing.

Angela Benson PhD

Angela M Benson, PhD,  is a Principal Lecturer in Tourism at the School of Service Management, University of Brighton and a Guest Lecturer on MSc International Event Management, MSc International Hospitality Management, and MSc International Tourism Management at Wittenborg. In 2010 Angela was made an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canberra, Australia. Prior to her career as an academic, she worked for 13 years in leisure and recreation, managing a range of facilities and events. Angela has published over 20 articles and chapters in the areas of Volunteer Tourism, Volunteering at Mega Events, Best Value, Sustainability and Research Methods.

Chris Dutton

Chris Dutton is Assistant Head of School at the School of Sport & Service Management, University of Brighton and a Guest Lecturer on MSc International Hospitality Management, MSc International Events Maangement and MSc International Tourism Management at Wittenborg. Chris has successfully bid for a number of prestigious grants including Interreg 111a and three Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. Chris's research interests include retail operations, retail marketing, customer service, service quality and knowledge exchange and has presented his work at a number of conferences around the world.

Ioannis Pantelidis PhD

Ioannis Pantelidis, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Sport & Service Management, University of Brighton and a Guest Lecturer on MSc International Events Management at Wittenborg. In 2000 he embarked on an academic career, having previously worked in a number of hospitality businesses from small restaurants to 5 star chain hotels in Greece, Germany and the UK. He prefers research that can see practical applications in industry. His PhD topic focuses on the personality of the hospitality consumer and technology acceptance. He is the co-author of the best selling text, Food and Beverage Management and has published and presented papers in numerous international conferences and established academic journals such as the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly.

Shonali Rodrigues

Shonali Rodrigues is Lecturer in Tourism and Social Anthropology at the University of Brighton and Guest Lecturer on MSc International Events Management at Wittenborg University. Shonali Rodrigues has over twenty years’ experience in the management and coordination of national and international large-scale events.

Dimitrios Vlachopoulos PhD

Dimitrios Vlachopoulos, PhD, graduated from the University of Barcelona in Pedagogy (Distance Education & Instructional Technology). Dr. Vlachopoulos has worked as faculty member in different universities, including the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Open University of Catalonia, the Open University of Cyprus, the European University Cyprus, the University of Liverpool, the University of Roehampton London, Essex University, Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, and the University of California at Berkeley. Currently, he is Senior Researcher at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

Yasmina Khadir-Poggi PhD

Yasmina Khadir-Poggi, PhD, completing the PhD from the Trinity Business School in Dublin, she has an MSc from Pantheon-Sorbonne University in France in Business Administration. Her teaching experience is extensive with 18+ years, and she has been involved in developing curricula and courses, specifically in the fields of Strategy, International Business, and Management. She has taught classes to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and in multicultural environments. She also supervised master’s dissertations and different research projects for undergraduates. Yasmina's research interests primarily concern organisational theory, knowledge management, knowledge-based strategy, and activity theory. Her PhD explored organisational knowledge creation and emergence using activity theory. She is an active researcher who has published in academic journals and presented papers at several conferences. She also regularly acts as a reviewer.

Sam M. Pour PhD

Sam M. Pour PhD, completing his PhD from Eastern Mediterranean University in Industrial Engineering: Operation Research & Optimisation. He is an academician/field expert who values continuous learning as a researcher, applying knowledge as field expert and transferring it as lecturer. He has studied both Industrial Engineering and Facility, and Real Estate Management, specialised in a systematic approach to problem-solving and Smart Solutions & Technologies. His solutions in Business Analysis, Operation Management, and Strategic Supply Chain Management have helped organisations to enhance the performance, effectiveness, and productivity of their activities. He is best known for his skills in explaining sophisticated issues in an easy to understand form, thinking out of the box, handling multiple tasks, and a high degree of cultural awareness and conflict-reconciliation skills in the working environment.

Jo-Anne Lester PhD

Jo-Anne Lester, PhD, is a Principal Lecturer at the School of Sport & Service Management, University of Brighton and a Guest Lecturer on MSc International Event Management, MSc International Hospitality Management, and MSc International Tourism Management at Wittenborg. Prior to entering education, she gained considerable operational experience in tour operating and on cruise ships.

Tauseef Ali PhD

Tauseef Ali, PhD, graduated in Biometric Pattern Recognition. He was technical lead on a project called “Balljames” funded by SciSports and also worked on design and implementation of computer vision and machine learning algorithms for application development on embedded systems. He was nominated for the best teacher award in 2014 at the University of Twente in the course of electric circuit analysis, and awarded a scholarship for master’s study in Engineering in South Korea by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. He is also a member of the Pakistan Engineering Council, and was awarded a merit scholarship by the Graduate School at Myongji University in South Korea.

Lasantha De Silva MBA MA

Lasantha De Silva, MBA, MA, originally from the Banking sector, had a career change to Education in 2008. He comes with a strong managerial background in South Asia, the Middle East and Europe. He applies innovative ideas, adapts to varying work situations and is flexible in approach to resolving challenges, fosters innovative solutions, and creates a work culture that rewards teamwork and cooperation. An alumnus of Wittenborg, having completed both his second masters - MBA in Finance in 2018 and bachelor's in Financial Services Management in 2008, he completed his first master's in Leadership, Innovation and Change Management from University of York St John. Having taught in the programmes of London School of Economics, Monash University, Herriot Watt University and Birmingham City University and at Wittenborg, his areas of lecturing are: Accounting, Finance, Banking and Financial Intermediation. Apart from his passion for teaching, he is also an expert in Trans-national Education, Education Management, Financial Modelling and Change Management.

Geert de Haan PhD MSc

Geert de Haan, PhD Educated in Cognitive Psychology, he calls himself Cognitive Ergonomist because of his work in the area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Cognitive Ergonomics trying to adapt Information Technology to the capabilities and limitations of human users and to find ways to make computer systems functional, easy to use, easy to learn, and pleasant to work with. These demands are getting increasingly more important, now that we are moving with our personal live into digital information ecologies.

Gilbert Silvius PhD

Gilbert Silvius, PhD, is a ‘practitioner turned academic’, with extensive experience in management, consulting, research and education. He is professor at LOI University of Applied Sciences and senior research associate at the University of Johannesburg. Gilbert is considered an expert in project management and information management, and has published over a 100 academic papers and several books.

Nicolet C.M.Theunissen PhD

Nicolet C.M.Theunissen, PhD, is Head of Wittenborg Research Centre and as such responsible for the strategic research agenda and the monitoring of the overall academic quality at Wittenborg. Her current research subject is Virtues for the 21th century: moral competences and moral development using ubiquitous learning techniques. Milena van Voorden PhD

Milena van Voorden, PhD, is an experienced scholar in law. She holds a PhD and a master's degree in Legal Sciences and she has been teaching since 2009, when she enrolled in a PhD program at her Alma Mater - the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland. Until 2016, she also worked as a freelance English teacher and translator, and as a Junior Chief Accountant in a private accounting firm. Currently, she is a lecturer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in Apeldoorn and at NHTV University of Applied Sciences in Breda.
Despite specialising in criminal law and criminal proceedings, Milena is passionate about many different aspects of law. She is continuously learning and broadening her field of expertise. She also holds many different certificates, including language certificates, and official teaching and accounting permits. In Wittenborg, she is a lecturer in several law modules, as well as an Academic Supervisor. She strongly believes in an open-door policy and is always willing to help students who might have legal interests or questions.

Doron Zilbershtein PhD

Doron Zilbershtein, PhD, graduated from North Central University in Business Administration with specialisation in Industrial/Organisational Psychology. He is a dedicated educator with more than 20 years of experience teaching the hybrid method online, as well as teaching face to face classes utilising the Blended Learning/Socratic method. He has a proven track record of engaging graduate and adult students by integrating real-world business case studies into the classroom. Continuously developing grade-boosting initiatives and creating lesson plans that yield impressive results, he is known for motivating college and adult learners to set and achieve realistic goals in and outside the classroom. Doron is adept at establishing a positive learning experience and responding effectively to the needs of faculty members and students, and possesses strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organisational culture skills, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

George Bosire, MBA

George Bosire, MBA - A lecturer and researcher with expertise in finance, business process and other business courses. An excellent communicator, team player result driven and eager to facilitate career development realization to my students. A believer of goal oriented synergies drawn from the recognition of unique strengths of the organization pillars in operations to the overall mission and vision.

Ben Prins

Ben Prins has years of experience in middle and higher management in various branches in the Netherlands and abroad. His network covers industries such as manufacturing, packaging, food, metal, automotive, hospitality, event, tourism, robotics, and many more. Creation of business opportunities by working with branch organisations/platforms is one of his main business development specialisations.  

Harry Maatjes

Harry Maatjes graduated in Mechanical Engineering and has been working in various companies, mainly in the field of environmental issues. Harry specialized in non-production management, like quality, business start-ups, licencies, after-sales service and finance. In 2003 he joined Wittenborg as a teacher in SME modules, finance and law. On occasion, he gives seminars on subjects of the professional aspects of modern business. From 2008 on he is a member of Wittenborg’s Trust with quality, finance and accreditation as fields of interest. Harry now owns a small company, which specializes in environmental issues, like odour reduction and elimination of pollution from factories, large kitchens and petrochemical industry.

Abu Manju PhD

Abu Manju, PhD, graduated with his first degree in Statistics, then completed an MSc in Statistics at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, followed by a PhD in Biostatistics at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands, in 2016. His doctoral thesis considered the development and application of statistical methods for optimally designing the nested cost-effectiveness randomised clinical trials. In June 2016, Abu started working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS), MSD in Oss, the Netherlands. In this role, he performed statistical research to develop appropriate performance measures, criteria, and experimental designs for the robustness of microbiological methods. He also works as a lecturer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences.

Roland Ritmeester MBA

Roland Ritmeester, MBA, always considers ‘enhancing the free flow of knowledge’ as the focus of all his activities, be it as teacher, trainer, manager, entrepreneur, or business consultant. He creates the best conditions and facilitates the learning experience for individuals as well as groups. He brings a lot of business experience to the table, about start-ups, entrepreneurship, sales and marketing, finance and knowledge of the intricacies of (international) management, business development, and C-suites. His passion and sense of humour are unfailing. His approach is hands on, research and team based. He is a lateral thinker, pragmatic, creative, context aware and structurally good natured. He started in the education industry at Elsevier, first as a sales executive and then as content developer and trainer. In his career as business developer, consultant, and manager, he develops and gives training and workshops, and has worked as a part-time lecturer at universities of applied science, most recently at the University of Groningen (a project for the course Technology-Enabled Innovation) and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (minor UXD).

Wybe Popma MSc

Wybe Popma, MSc, graduated from the University of Twente in Industrial Engineering & Management. He is a Principal Lecturer in Marketing at Brighton Business School. He also teaches at the University of Montpellier and has held positions at Sussex University, Erasmus University, ETH Zurich and Twente University. His main research interests revolve around "Marketing and Innovation in relation to Competition" as well as "Ethics in relation to Corporate Social Responsibility."

Udo Merkel PhD

Udo Merkel, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer in Events Management. He holds various degrees from British and German universities in the Social Sciences and Sport Sciences. Over the last twenty years, he has worked at a number of universities in mainland Europe, Latin America and South-East Asia.

Emmah Nyambura Muchoki MSc

Emmah Nyambura Muchoki MSc, holds her master degree in Leisure, Tourism and Environment from Wageningen University, 2018. She attained her BSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2007. She became a lecturer at Hemland College in Hospitality and Tourism in 2010. From 2014 to 2016, she was Head of School of Hospitality, Tourism and Foreign Languages at Hemland College. Emmah is currently a lecturer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in the subject of Administrative Organisation.

Tanya Dimitrova MA

Tanya Dimitrova, MA,  gained her MA in Marketing and Management in 1999 from the University of National and World Economics, Sofia, and in 2011 she got a Diploma in Digital Marketing from London CAM Foundation. She is a lecturer at Holland University of Applied Sciences for the subjects of Marketing Research, International Marketing Management, Strategic Marketing, Digital Marketing, Destination and Tourism and Hospitality Marketing. She is also a course developer and course coordinator at the same university. For two years she was a sales specialist in Cosmo Bulgaria Ltd. – GloBul, Sofia, Bulgaria, managing the supply of mobile phones and accessories, contracting with the vendors, organising the logistics, the warehousing, and distribution to the end sales points and dealers, invoicing and collaborating closely with the financial department and preparing sales reports and analysis. Tanya started her collaboration with Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in 2004 as an International Office Front Desk Administrator. She continued working at Wittenborg as an education department coordinator and, in 2008, she became Wittenborg's Education Manager. Currently, Tanya lectures at Wittenborg in the subject of Digital Marketing.

René Rijnders, MSc

René Rijnders, MSc - has worked for the Dutch Board of the Hotel and Catering Industry for many years, focussing on Labour Market Research, Food Safety and Future Hospitality. He has participated in a number of publications on using the Design Thinking approach in concept development in hospitality. Wim Oonk MBA

Wim Oonk, MBA, graduated from the London Business School in Master Business Administration. Throughout his varied career, he has accomplished many developments, training, and consultancy assignments within the financial, industrial, commercial and public sector. As an all-round trainer, he is able to complete complex projects and programmes in close cooperation with the HR department within the scope defined by the organisation and the required time framework. Marjon van Opijnen, MSc, MA   interest and work in economic and societal transition made her realise that also sustainability has its boundaries when we remain focused on our current systems and make sustainability part of this. Besides being a lecturer Dr. Bauer is also involved in the Wittenborg Research Centre.

Sylvia Wels, MBA

Sylvia Wels, MBA - studied biology and environmental studies and worked for 28 years as an environmental consultant, process manager and senior policy specialist for an environmental department in Utrecht. In this period she was a chairman of the working group 'culture change', during organizational development process that has led to the drawing up of a Balanced Scorecard. Besides that she worked as a manager in her own ict company.  After a job change she started working as a change manager and teacher at the Waldorfschool in Zeist. She finished her MBA with a research in confidence in leadership in relation the the change readiness of the employees. As of 2016 she is a lecturer at Wittenborg university.

Maria Mulder Karadimou MBA

Esther Gitonga, MSc, after graduating with honours in Hospitality & Tourism Management at Kenyatta University, came to the Netherlands to study at Wageningen University. Esther has a master's degree in Leisure, Tourism & Environmental Studies. She is currently preparing for her PhD at Wageningen University, in a joint supervision with Wittenborg, in which she is exploring climate change adaptation options for marginalised, tourism-dependent communities in Africa. Esther is fascinated about travel.

Joost Vos, PhD

Joost Vos, PhD (1960) studied Pharmacy at the University of Utrecht. Het worked for ten years at Schwabe Group in the functions of quality and production manager at the plants in Philadelphia (USA) and Alkmaar (Nl). As of 1999 he works as a Managing Consultant at TNO Management Consultants. In his job he combines strategic advice, research and education. In 1984 Joost Vos worked as a chemistry teacher. As of 2001 Joost is a guest Lecturer at various Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. At Wittenborg Joost Vos is a Senior Lecturer as of 2013.

Anna Bos-Nehles PhD

Anna Bos-Nehles, PhD, is a lecturer in the field of Human Resource Management. Her main research interest lies in the role of line managers towards HRM implementation effectiveness and their effect on innovative employee behavior. In the first sub-topic she focuses on how line managers implement HR policies and practices at the operational level and in the second sub-topic her interest lies in the way line managers can shape the innovative behavior of employees in all areas of the organization.

Florian Oosterberg

Florian Oosterberg is Wittenborg's Admissions Officer and works with the Student Registrar to facilitate the admissions process for new students. Florian is also busy finishing her Master thesis at Leiden University and expects to graduate in September 2015. 

Mariví Martinez Brocca, MSc

Mariví Brocca, MSc - graduated in Law and she studied to become a Tax Inspector but she changed her professional direction. She has worked as a language teacher since 2001. In 2004 she met her husband in Seville (Spain), first they moved to Lisbon and in 2009  to Utrecht, where they live now. Now she combines working for bigger organizations as a Spanish teacher with her small language school, Las Naranjas.

Arie T. Barendregt PhD

Arie Barendregt, PhD, graduated at the University of Kingston-upon-Thames in the UK. He has supported companies with advice on marketing, strategy, and sales. He also teaches marketing and strategy. He is an emphatic people manager, coach, team player, builder of bridges. He has experience in designing and execution of strategies to position European B2B companies. Tineke van der Leer

Tineke grew up in a small village in the North of the Netherlands. After her education she lived in the Middle East for several years, doing different kinds of work there and learning several new skills.

Back in The Netherlands, she went to live and work in Deventer and gained experienced working in several kinds of organisations.

Martin Lens

Martin Lens is born in 1951 in a village near Amsterdam. Married in 1986 with Ineke. He lived in Amsterdam, Almere and more than 20 years in Amersfoort. Three years ago they moved to Apeldoorn because of the beautiful environment. Martin is retiered and works at Wittenborg as a Volunteer. He helps in our Libarary to provide students with books they needed for their study and is also an Exam Invigilator.

Bert Meeuwsen, MBA Med

Bert Meeuwsen, MBA, MEd, is born in the Netherlands has lived in Hong Kong and Bangkok. Bert has organization sciences research on: ‘Interventional preferences due to organization cultural differences of personnel within the Netherlands’ Provincial Reconstruction Teams in Afghanistan’; ‘Perception positioning, and consultancy to management, of a school for secondary education in the Greater Rotterdam Area’; ‘Adult education as change intervention’, within implementation of enterprise resources planning system’ With his international experience he is educating Wittenborg students.

Daphne Xin Wang

Daphne Xin Wang was born and raised in Beijing, China. In 1996 she came to the Netherlands to study economy in Saxion High School, After graduation, she worked in different companies as a financial administration employee, where she built up a great deal of experience in finance areas. At Wittenborg she is responsible for financial planning and all operational financial work.

Karel van der Zande worked in the private and project installations, floors, windows and related products. In addition, the municipality of Apeldoorn. The last in the function as the first contact for caravan dwellers. Now he works for Wittenborg as Student Housing coordinator

Anesca Smith

Anesca Smith is a journalist, business graduate and qualified chef. Before moving to the Netherlands she worked as a senior political reporter in South Africa and also as a foreign correspondent in London, the UK. She joined Wittenborg’s marketing team in 2014 after obtaining a Bachelor degree in International Business Administration in 2013.

Christine Kalibbala MSc, graduated from Maastricht University in International Law and Globalisation. Sander Oude Luttikhuis MBA

Sander Oude Luttikhuis, MBA, holds a master degree in from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a postdoctoral degree in Business Valuation from Rotterdam School of Management. He started his career in 2002 as Financial Trainee at the municipality of Rotterdam where he worked on projects at the Port of Rotterdam. He then started working at the Port of Rotterdam as Project Manager Property Transactions in 2003. Ashley Foy Tervoort MA, has an MA in German Literature from Tufts University. She gained her BA in German Studies, with European Union Studies and Psychology, from Central Connecticut State University. Evangelia Konstantinidou MA

Evangelia Konstantinidou, MA, studied Hotel and Tourism Management in Thessaloniki, Greece. She gained her master's in the Netherlands in Leisure, Tourism and Environment at Wageningen University. Evangelia has more than seven years of working experience in the hospitality and entertainment industry. As a lecturer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, she teaches modules that are related to business and management within the tourism industry. Evangelia's interests are scientific research, different social science fields, and topics related to the complex phenomenon of tourism.

Romy Buchheim, BA, graduated from Reinwardt Academy in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and from the University of Leiden in Theory of Education. She is a certified interpreter of Dutch/Italian and translator of Dutch/Italian for ITV Hogeschool Utrecht. She is experienced in freelance services for translation, interpreting, editing/proofreading, training, and transcription. She teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced Dutch at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences.

Amy M. Abdou MA

Amy Abdou, MA, attained her master degree majoring in Migration and Ethnic Studies, from Universiteit van Amsterdam in December 2003. In 2001, she graduated from the University at Albany with an MA in Sociology. In 2003, Amy started her career as a programme manager at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, and in 2008 she became the Project Coordinator of the National Institute for the study of Dutch Slavery and its Legacy. From 2009 to 2010, she was a lecturer in Webster University, teaching Applied Behavioural and Social Sciences. Meanwhile, she became the lecturer in the Nyenrode New Business School in subject of Leadership and Transformative Business, Sociology and Cross Cultural Management. At the same business school she became the Educational Development Officer in 2015. Amy has worked for Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences from October 2017 as a senior lecturer in the subjects of Entrepreneurship and Society, Entrepreneurial Behaviour, Management, Leadership & Organisation, and Sociology & Organisational Behaviour.

Trinidad Navarro MBA

Trinidad Navarro, MBA, graduated with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management in Spain, and obtained a Master of Business Administration in Hotel and Tourism Management in Switzerland. He worked for more than 15 years in the hospitality field in various international companies and roles such as operations management and business development, before working as Hospitality Management Lecturer in Suzhou, China. Trinidad loves teaching and sharing his experiences and expertise with students. He has conducted several sustainable projects in China with students and the local community to bring awareness of the importance of green practices in tourism, businesses, and daily life.

Sanne de Jong

Sanne de Jong - has a positive, social, cheerful character. Sanne has gained experience in Business development, Talent management, Emergency Logistics and Quality management. Her experience with people around the world has given her the opportunity to learn about communication with all sorts of people. Conor Sheehan PhD

Conor Sheehan PhD, following his graduation from Trinity College in Dublin, moved to London where he pursued his initial career in 'rooms division management' at Claridge's Hotel and subsequently two other luxury west-end outlets. Later, he made the move into hospitality education at Westminster College where he taught human resource management and applied hospitality business subjects before assuming the role of Head of Higher Education.

Jan Hendrik Hoekjen PhD

Jan Hendrik Hoekjen, PhD, graduated from Universiteit van Groningen, "MA History – Cultural History" in 2012. He obtained his doctoral degree in 2018 from the Universiteit van Utrecht. His dissertation was about ‘Pars melior nostri. The Structure of Spinoza’s Intellect’. (Analysis of the instrumental and structural importance of the notion ‘intellect’ in Spinoza’s metaphysics). He has a broad range of work experience, among which are: Editor, Inside Information (1998 – 2007),Chief Editor, Inside Information (2007-present), Literary Editor, Uitgeverij Gelderland (2010-present), Teacher, Office Academy (2010-present), Education Coordinator, Office Academy (2017-present). He is currently a lecturer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences.

Michael Williams PhD

Michael Williams PhD, joined the School of Sport and Service Management in March 2008 as a member of the events management team. Michael studied event management at Leeds Beckett University and worked in the arts and cultural events sector for over 10 years. He completed his PhD in music events as contemporary spectacle at the University of Brighton in June 2017.

He teaches across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in event management at the University’s Eastbourne campus and at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, one of the School’s partner institutions.

André de Waal PhD

André de Waal, PhD, graduated from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in Economics. As an independent consultant, he focuses on performance management and high-performance organisations. He has been teaching and conducting projects in this field in countries like China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Nepal, Peru, Surinam, U.K., Poland, Saudi-Arabia, Yemen, South-Africa, Namibia, and Tanzania. André has been selected by managementboek.nl as one of the Dutch Masters in Management, ten people who have most influenced management thinking in the Netherlands in the past decade. His research into high-performance organisations and high-performance individuals attracts a lot of (international) attention. André has published over 400 articles and 30 books. His latest English book is "What Makes A High-Performance Organisation?" (2012). His latest Dutch book is "De High-Performance Overheids Organisatie" (2019).

Angela Maguire MA

Angela Maguire, MA graduated from the Open University in Business, Innovation & Creativity. She is a highly experienced director and senior lecturer in business and service sector management, with a background in the hospitality, retail, and tourism industry. She has experience in assessing and developing skills, executive-level exposure to liaising and networking on national and regional agendas with a wide variety of stakeholders, including government projects. Dynamic, highly motivated, focused on project management delivery, she is also experienced in providing advice and support for work-based higher education.

Dr Ad Kil

Dr Ad Kil is Professor of Professional Research Didactics and Director of Executive PhD Programmes at Nyenrode Business University, the Netherlands, and Chendu, China, and Professor of Research at the Nordic International Management Institute, China. He is a former HRD professor at Nottingham Law School, United Kingdom, former Master of Conflict Management Research Manager, Maastricht University Law School. He is a senior lecturer at the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA), where he developed the Advocacy Skills Programme, and Radboud University's Law School.

Pericles Asher Rospigliosi MA

Pericles Asher Rospigliosi, MA, is Principal Lecturer and researcher for Brighton Business School in e-business, digital marketing, and management information systems. He has researched and taught at Brighton Business School since 2001, and has developed successful modules in e-commerce, mobile innovations, big data, and digital marketing. Asher has research interests in the history, impact, and nature of higher education, graduate employability and how graduates might best be served by the university. He is associate editor of the research journal Interactive Learning Environments. He also writes and talks on e-commerce, digital marketing, big data, and digital entrepreneurship. Before joining the University of Brighton, Asher was a project manager at CNet/ZDNet developing commercial e-commerce publishing systems, working with developers across Europe, the USA, and Singapore. He had six years at ZDNet and was a webmaster to a number of successful properties including PC Magazine, The Computer Channel, IT Week and founded Gamespot UK, which won the PPAi consumer web site award in 1999. Away from the Business School Asher is excited by sustainable and low impact living, tipis, and fire. He has been helping keep the fire in the tipi field at Glastonbury Festival since the early nineties.

Marion Curdy

Marion Curdy is Learning Technologies Advisor at the University of Brighton supporting a diverse range of schools across subjects in the Arts, Sciences, and Business. Her career to date spans the fields of Education and the creative/technology industries, and she sees herself as a Creative Learning Technologist, interested in the creative and pedagogic use of technology in learning, teaching, and research.

Tri Adiyanti Setiawan, MSc

Tri Adiyanti Setiawan, MSc is our Admission Officer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences. She guides the students through the admission process. Aside from this, she also helpes with the marketing and sales activities such as preparing and do a presentation in a webinar.

Marina Dabic

Dr Marina Dabic is Professor of Entrepreneurship and International Business at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics & Business, Croatia, and Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, UK. Her research has appeared in a wide variety of journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Journal of Business Ethics, European Management Journal, Thunderbird Business Review, Management Decision, JHRM, Journal of Manpower, amongst others. She is the editor of the International Journal of Transition and Innovation Systems, Inderscience, and her research areas include entrepreneurship, international business, innovation, management of technology and the impact of innovation on CEE countries. For her research she has been granted ALIS, Erasmus and Leonardo scholarships, and was grant holder of several EU projects and the JP TEMPUS Project: Fostering Entrepreneurships in Higher Education - FoSentHE.

Sinem Gulsen

Sinem Gulsen worked for Wittenborg from 2005 until 2010. She started at the International Office, did Management Assistance among other things, and was Marketing & PR Officer for the most part. She came back to Wittenborg in 2016 to fulfil the position of Senior Communications Manager, in which she is responsible for designing, writing, editing and proof reading internal and external marketing & communications material, ensuring Wittenborg’s brand identity, contributing to the design and content of the website, and also organising events and managing other communication projects.

Marc Keech PhD

Marc Keech, PhD, is Principal Lecturer at the School of Sport and Service Management, specialising in Sport Policy and Sport Management, and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Marc has been awarded a PhD, which examined the contribution of sport to the end of apartheid in South Africa (Staffordshire University), a BA (Hons) in Sport and Recreation Studies (Staffordshire University), and a PGCE (Further and Higher Education - Manchester Metropolitan University).

Stanley Mbelu

Stanley Mbelu is an LL.M International Commercial Law graduate from the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom. He has more than 10 years' combined experience of business consultancy, project management, start-up business planning, hospitality, teaching and general business management. Stanley started giving private study tutorials to various groups of learners at an early stage, and has successfully guided and advised different levels of students and professionals in career-related developments. 

Tim Birdsall

Tim Birdsall was born into a family of teachers, and is a teacher himself. He tries to bring value to conversations in all parts of his professional life
Tim originally trained as a cook, and then language teacher and spent the first 5 years of his professional career living and working in France, Germany, Spain, Costa-Rica and Switzerland. When time allows, hobbies are sailing and skiing.

As an organisation and management consultant, Stefanie advises companies on how to improve their business operations and organisation culture so that they can be more successful with minimal effort and resources. Her tasks are: consulting, training and coaching managers and business owners in the field of business operations, leadership and culture.

Iryna Bernatska, MSc, MA

Iryna Bernatska is a double master's degree holder in International & Digital Communication (NL & UK) and a master's degree holder in International Relations (UA). Iryna is Campus Manager in Amsterdam and makes sure that all processes run smoothly. Also, she supports internal and external communications effectively through all necessary channels, generating leads and supporting sales. Iryna is responsible for events organisation in the Amsterdam campus, providing guidance to the students and supporting staff members when needed. Her aim is to make students' time at Wittenborg unforgettable.

Lena Vandenbosch, MSc, MBA

Lena Vandenbosch , MSc, MBA - holds a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Maastricht and an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid. She is a native English speaker, fluent in Dutch as well as Spanish. Her professional experiences have been in a variety of fields such as Marketing, Sales and Purchasing, working in different countries including The Netherlands, Mexico and Spain. Lena is a team member of the sales and admission department.

Rob Spape MBA

Rob Spape MBA, gained his MBA degree in 1995 from P.U.C. Limburg (Belgium). From 1987 to 1988, he studied Business Economics in Tilburg University. He studied Business Engineering & Management Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology, 1983-1989. In 1988, Rob started work in KPMG International as a consultant. In 1990 he became a consultant in small to medium-sized enterprises for KNOV Consultancy. From 1990 to 1995, he cooperated with Deloitte as a senior consultant on business opportunity projects, adapting and implementing strategies and business plans to gain financial support for high-risk innovative projects. Rob is well experienced in interim management, business development, ICT/ISP management, management consultancy, team coaching, stress consultancy, career and employability consultancy. He is a lecturer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Corporate Entrepreneurship and Logistics.

Clifford Conway PhD MSc

Clifford Conway, PhD, graduated from Kingston University with a doctorate in Business Administration. He has 12 years of marketing and sales experience, plus over 15 years involved in management training and business research, and can offer advice on business planning for startups and social enterprises. Clifford Conway currently works at the Brighton Business School, University of Brighton. Clifford does research into Social Enterprise and Marketing. The current project is 'Social Enterprise.'

Steven Goss-Turner PhD

Steven Goss-Turner, PhD, Following a career within the HRM departments of a then major international hotel company, Steven joined the University of Brighton. He has a PhD (Brighton), MSc in Human Resource Development (Portsmouth) and a BA in Hotel and Catering Management (Strathclyde). He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development. He is widely published and is currently reviewing the text “Human Resource management in the Hospitality Industry” for the publication of its 10th edition in 2019. He is Honorary Research Fellow, University of Brighton and is still engaged in the supervision of PhD candidates and writing joint articles with his recent PhD graduates.

Barbara Doninger MA

Barbara Doninger, MA, graduated from the University of Interpretation and Translation in Vienna in translation. She teaches French language courses on three levels from beginner to advanced.

James Bowen PhD, has many technology expertise. He provides business with advice and is the inventor of a task management system and an underwater localization device using passive sonar. He is associated with 8 universities including 3 in Europe where he teaches MBAs technology, entrepreneurship and strategy. At Wittenborg he is responsible for the development of Simulation Games and Online Programmes.
