Faculty & Researchers

Over the past 5 years, WUAS has made tremendous advances in its teaching capacity. The number of PhD-qualified and researching teaching staff has increased significantly, and in ratio to its size, much faster than other universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. WUAS has made a strategic commitment to increase its PhD-qualified faculty, at full-time and part-time levels, to represent the majority of teaching staff by 2021, with at least 40% of academic staff scholarly active.

Students expect a wide range of expertise and diversity in the teaching of the modules they receive. They often expect their teachers to have not only theoretical knowledge, but also up-to-date practical experience that can be shared with them in the classroom. At WUAS, students can expect a diversity of teachers, both in gender and international representation, and at the same time expect small class sizes and a feeling of connection to their teachers.
