Muhammad has an extensive international background in management, finance and Islamic ecosystem spanning over 10 years. He was awarded two consecutive scholarships during his banking and finance studies at Hailey College of Banking & Finance, University of the Punjab, Pakistan. He graduated with an MBA from Coburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany, in 2011, and holds a postgraduate diploma in Islamic banking and finance from Eberhard Karl University Tuebingen, Germany.
Muhammad is a trainer and consultant, and is the Chief Executive of Amanah IIFE, an ethical banking and Islamic finance consulting firm based in Germany and Pakistan. Prior to joining Amanah IIFE, Mr Ashfaq worked in various positions as Scientific Staff/Lecturer at Rhine-Waal University in Germany, and Specialist Finance at Pfizer Manufacturing Deutschland GmbH. He is also a visiting faculty member of the International MBA programme at Coburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany, where he regularly teaches Financial Management.
Muhammad has also delivered numerous guest lectures in the area of traditional finance, Islamic finance, banking, global halal industry, corporate governance and Islamic law in various institutions as well as conducting a TV lecture series for Paghiam TV. He has written various research articles and has attended and spoken at several national and international conferences in more than 25 countries. He is an established writer and has contributed several chapters in different books, and co-edited a book on the topic of Finance, Ethics and Islamic banking.
