Part Time Work in the Netherlands
Non-EU Students - Part Time Work in the Netherlands
Non-EU Students with a residence permit for study are not permitted to work without a specially issued work permit in the Netherlands during their stay (unless they are an EU citizen). These days the work permit is made easier by the fact that international students can directly apply for a "BSN Number" (Citizen Service Number) after obtaining their residence permits, just as Dutch citizens, which allows them to find work for 10 hours a week in the study period of the year. Student can also choose to work in the holidays for 36 or 40 hours per week. However the two type of work can not be combined.
