After a 12 year career in the armed services, Gilbert Silvius joined Getronics as a consultant on business and IT alignment and a project manager. He was leading a division of Getronics Consulting before joining HU University of Applied Sciences in 2002, as the first professor at HU Business School.
In his tenure at HU, he developed several master’s degree programs and was responsible for the school’s honours program.
Gilbert is now active as an independent researcher and lecturer with engagements at several universities in the Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Vietnam, France and Austria. He holds a PhD degree in information sciences from Utrecht University and masters’ degrees in economics and business administration. Gilbert always combined his academic engagements with practical experience by working as an auditor and an advisor.
Gilbert is the 2013 recipient of the Sustainability Award of the Green Project Management organization and a honorary fellow of the International Information Management Association.
