NICCT's Reception Sets Tone for NL-India Corridor in 2024

On 24 January, Maggie Feng, CEO of Wittenborg, was present at a 'New Year Reception' hosted by NICCT (The Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce & Trade), in collaboration with HCLTech, a global technology company with an extensive portfolio of technology services and products.

The reception, moderated by Christina James Puthiyadath from HCLTech, included welcoming remarks by Edith Nordmann, Chairman at NICCT, and addresses by Ingrid Michon, Member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands, and Satya Pinisetty, First Secretary (Economic & Commerce) at the Embassy of India to the Netherlands. Closing remarks were delivered by Ishtiyaq Amed Maniyar, Associate Vice President at HCLTech.

The event concluded with a networking reception.

On LinkedIn, Nordmann stated that the gathering was not only a celebration but also a reaffirmation of the strong ties and shared visions between the Netherlands and India, marking a promising start to the year for the NL-India corridor.

"The event encapsulated the spirit of inclusiveness and collective growth, principles central to the ethos of both NICCT and India, as demonstrated during its impressive G20 presidency in 2023. India's rise as a global economic powerhouse goes beyond statistics; it's a testament to a culture that values collective progress and inclusive development."

Nordmann emphasised the synergy between India's burgeoning market and technological prowess and the Netherlands' strategic European position, offering vast opportunities.

"This year, we aim to leverage these strengths to explore new horizons and forge enduring partnerships in the corridor. As the year unfolds, we embrace India's ethos of 'One world, One family, One future,' guiding us towards a future rich in economic vibrancy, cultural diversity, environmental awareness and global inclusivity. This vision extends beyond our members, offering a beacon for all Dutch entrepreneurs poised to venture into the dynamic realm of business with India."

The reception particularly highlighted the importance of supporting grassroots development and collaboration within the community. Innovative programmes to encourage and include budding cricketers, particularly women, were discussed. The focus for the year also includes preparations for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
