Sharing of Exploratory Study on Cross-Cultural Business Ethics
PhD graduates and lecturers Dr Fahad Shakeel and Bert Meeuwsen presented their Exploratory Study on the topic of Cross-Cultural Business Ethics. Their study relates to their PhD programmes but is also in line with Wittenborg’s mission and core values of Internationalisation, Diversity and Ethics. The presentation triggered active discussion among faculty members, which generated new and interesting topics for future research publications at Wittenborg.
With the advent of the EuroCHRIE Conference 2022 in October, to be hosted by Wittenborg, the Research Centre has invited Wittenborg lecturer Dr Vanessa de Oliveira Menezes to share her valuable experience as a participant, presenter and reviewer of EuroCHRIE project papers since 2013. She gave an insight into how reviews of submitted proposal papers by incumbent presenters of the conference are carried out. The sharing is also to spark an interest among Wittenborg lecturers to become participants or reviewers for the coming EuroCHRIE conference or for future events. More about the EuroCHRIE conference and how to become a reviewer can be found on the conference website at www.eurochrie.org/2022.
Best Strategies in Supervising Qualitative Research
The meeting proceeded with a presentation by Wittenborg’s senior lecturer Dr Doron Zilbershtein on the best strategies in supervising Qualitative Research. With years of experience in teaching and supervising students on Qualitative Research, he shared a collective of ten tips that supervisors should follow. Commenting on the presentation in the meeting Chat, faculty members said that these tips are valuable not only for thesis supervision but also in their normal daily teaching.
Research Reward Policy
Before closing the meeting, Research Centre Coordinator and EU Project Manager Aydan Ismayilova presented to the attendees a current update of Wittenborg’s Research Reward Policy. The policy was developed as an incentive to encourage more quality research at Wittenborg and to provide support for research expenses. The meeting closed with Head of School of Business Dr Rauf Abdul urging lecturers to collaborate with each other and to conduct quality research to enhance the teaching quality at Wittenborg.
The next periodic meeting is expected to take place at the end of March 2022.
