What’s On in Amsterdam July 2026: Festivals, Events & Summer Activities

Amsterdam Comes Alive in July 2026 with Festivals, Rooftops and Summer Events
Summer is in full swing in Amsterdam in July, with long days, lively terraces, rooftop programming, and a packed calendar of festivals, cultural events, and neighbourhood gatherings across the city.
The best way to experience Amsterdam in July is to stay outdoors as much as possible, moving between festivals, waterfront hangouts, and evening rooftop events as the city shifts into full summer mode.
Food, Rooftops & Open-Air Summer Events
TREK Festival (3 to 5 July) takes place at Amstelpark, bringing together food trucks, live music, theatre performances, and a relaxed open-air setting that runs throughout the weekend. It is one of the most accessible summer festivals for casual visits, with a focus on food and informal gatherings.
Summer on the Rooftop continues at NEMO Science Museum Rooftop every Thursday until late August, combining live music, food and drinks, and panoramic views across the city. Weekend mornings feature rooftop yoga sessions, adding a quieter rhythm to the summer programme.
Later in the month, the Amsterdamse Terrassen Festival (23 to 26 July) transforms Rembrandtpark into a large outdoor terrace space with music, food, and daytime social events.

July features a dense programme of music and cultural festivals across multiple locations.
De Amsterdamse Zomer (3 to 5 July) takes place at Olympisch Stadion, presenting large-scale live music and entertainment events.
Vunzige Deuntjes (4 July) is held in Amsterdamse Bos, focusing on hip-hop, R&B, and urban music culture.

Kwaku Festival continues throughout the month (11 July to 2 August) in Nelson Mandelapark, combining live music, food, sports, and cultural programming in one of the city’s largest summer community festivals.
Culture, Theatre & City Celebrations
De Parade (24 July to 9 August) transforms parts of the city into a travelling theatre festival, combining performances, live music, and food stalls in a carnival-style setting.
Markets, Swimming & Local Summer Life
Weekend markets remain a central part of July life in Amsterdam.
IJ-Hallen Flea Market (25 to 26 July) takes place at NDSM Wharf, offering one of the largest second-hand markets in Europe.
Other regular markets include the Sunday Market at Westergas, the Museum Market at Museumplein, and the Antique Market at Amstelveld.
On warmer days, swimming and riverside spots become central social spaces, including Weesperzijde, Gaasperplas, Houthavens, and Cafe de Ceuvel.
