Rauf Abdul Attends Forum on Vocational Excellence in Denmark

Abdul Attends CoVE on Behalf of the TourXperience Project
From 8 to 10 September, Wittenborg's Head of the School of Business, Rauf Abdul, attended the Forum on Vocational Excellence 2025 (CoVE) in Kolding, Denmark. The forum brought together more than 400 policymakers, educators, partners, and learners to explore excellence in vocational education under the theme 'CoVE: Driven by Learners, Defined by Excellence'.
Abdul, Head of the School of Business, attended on behalf of Wittenborg's TourXperience project, the school's largest Erasmus+ initiative. TourXperience was officially launched earlier this year and focuses on modernising tourism vocational education through Extended Reality (XR) technologies.
Over three days, he participated in workshops, keynote sessions, poster presentations, study visits, and networking with peers from across Europe.
Reflecting on the forum, Abdul said:
“The event provided an excellent platform to explore applied science research projects from a vocational education perspective. It was a great opportunity to connect with institutes and organisations from around the globe.”
He highlighted one session in particular:
“The workshop 'Because it hurts if one is excluded – Building Inclusive Working Spaces' offered rigorous discussions on diversity and inclusion that align with our mission and vision.”
Presenting the TourXperience poster was another highlight:
“It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase how applied science can reshape learning experiences in tourism and vocational training. Discussions about integrating Extended Reality (XR) in tourism VET highlighted the rapid technological transformation shaping the sector.”
Abdul also emphasised the networking opportunities:
“Networking around poster presentations and workshop breakout sessions opened doors for future partnerships, particularly with institutes engaged in applied research and digital innovation.”
“Overall, the forum reinforced the value of engaging with global vocational education communities, ensuring Wittenborg remains at the forefront of innovation, partnership, and applied research,” he added.
