Meet Osama Karam

Osama Karam, a final-year student in the International Business Administration (IBA) programme at Wittenborg, is ready to launch his career in business and finance. Specialising in Economics and Management, Osama brings a strong foundation in financial analysis, commercial strategy and international business operations.
Originally from the United Arab Emirates, Osama was drawn to Wittenborg’s Munich study location by the opportunity of being in one of Europe’s key business centres. He later completed a study exchange at Wittenborg’s main campus in the Netherlands, gaining further exposure to Dutch business culture and academic practices. “The combination of studying in Germany and the Netherlands gave me a unique and well-rounded perspective on international business practices,” he explains. “Wittenborg’s flexible and practical learning approach made it the ideal choice for my academic and career goals.”
During his studies, Osama developed a wide range of competencies, including a solid grasp of financial concepts, business planning and performance analysis. He also gained practical experience working in diverse, international teams, improving his communication, time management and presentation skills. “Teamwork played a big role throughout my studies. Working with classmates from different countries taught me how to collaborate, communicate effectively and adapt to different working styles,” he notes.
A key part of Osama’s development came through a three-month rotational internship at Emirates SkyCargo, where he gained hands-on experience across departments such as Capacity Control, Pricing & Interline, Revenue Planning and Commercial Strategy. He was entrusted with responsibilities such as conducting market analysis, supporting pricing decisions and contributing to data integrity efforts. These rotations not only strengthened his analytical and technical capabilities but also deepened his understanding of how large, global organisations operate.
When faced with new challenges, Osama shows initiative and adaptability. During his internship, he was assigned a data visualisation task using Power BI, despite having limited prior experience with the tool. He quickly learned the necessary skills and successfully delivered a presentation that was later used in a team meeting. This experience exemplifies his ability to learn quickly, work independently and meet high expectations.
Looking ahead, Osama is seeking roles in business analysis, revenue management or commercial strategy, ideally within an international company. He is particularly interested in industries such as logistics, real estate or finance, and plans to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification as well as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt to enhance his qualifications. “I enjoy taking on new challenges, learning new tools and constantly improving my skills. I believe that these qualities can add value to any organisation I join,” he says.
