Conference Programme Includes Academic and Social Activities

Since last Friday, 15 April, the registrations for EuroCHRIE Apeldoorn 2022 are open for students, professionals, researchers and educators from the tourism, hospitality and events industry. Hosted by Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences between 24 and 27 October, the conference will be centred on the future of education and industries in the hospitality & tourism, events management and culinary arts sectors.

In order to register, people interested in participating need to access the event’s website and fill in the form (click here), which will be available until 10 days before the conference. It is possible to choose between buying tickets for the full event or specific days, according to the participant’s interest. In case people have any doubts or questions about the conference or registration procedures, they can get in touch with the organisers through this link or by sending an email to eurochrie2022@wittenborg.eu.

Apart from multiple paper presentations, workshops, symposiums and other academic events, EuroCHRIE 2022’s programme includes social activities such as the opening ceremony, gala dinner and tours through some of Apeldoorn’s main attractions.

Wittenborg EU project coordinator and EuroCHRIE project manager Aydan Ismayilova explained that, in addition to introducing Apeldoorn to the participants, these activities are aimed at showing them how the region’s tourism & hospitality industries work. “The tours will be conducted by guides who will show the guests behind-the-scenes of famous local attractions. For example, when visiting the Het Loo Palace, the guide will discuss how the recently concluded renovation of the building aligns with its touristic purpose, and during the trip to De Hoge Veluwe National Park participants will learn more about how the park is managed,” she pointed out.

Ismayilova added that the conference programme (click here) includes specific activities for participants’ spouses and partners. “While participants are busy with academic events, we will offer their partners guided trips to Amsterdam, Zwolle and Deventer, so that they can explore the Netherlands a bit while they are here.”

Call for Papers: Last Days

Those who would like to submit papers, posters, symposium and workshop proposals to EuroCHRIE Apeldoorn 2022 have until Sunday, 24 April to do so. For more information about submissions, click here.

Student Involvement

Wittenborg will offer plenty of opportunities for its students to gain hands-on experience by participating as volunteers in the delivery of EuroCHRIE Apeldoorn 2022. The student volunteer programme – to be announced in the coming months – will be connected to the school’s project weeks. Among other tasks, hospitality and management students will be able to work as moderators in the conference sessions, welcome and register attendees, help in the kitchen and provide participants with information about Apeldoorn and the event.
