Meet Bright Okolie

Originally from Nigeria, Bright Okolie holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and recently completed his MBA in Data Analytics at Wittenborg. With a strong foundation in both science and business, Bright is now seeking opportunities in the field of data analytics, where he hopes to help organisations make smarter, data-driven decisions. 

Bright was drawn to Wittenborg for its practical, international approach to education and the Netherlands for its high demand for data professionals and strong quality of life. “Wittenborg stood out for its cross-cultural approach and small class sizes, which allow for personal guidance,” he says. 

Throughout his studies, Bright developed a robust set of technical and soft skills. His coursework and hands-on projects strengthened his ability to interpret and visualise data using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel and Python. He also enhanced his research capabilities, time management and critical thinking – skills that proved essential during the completion of his thesis. 

In addition to his academic training, Bright has previously worked as a data analyst and completed an internship where he was able to apply his classroom knowledge in a real business environment. This enabled him to refine his skills in data analysis and dashboard creation while working across teams. “These experiences helped me apply my classroom knowledge to real business situations and gave me more confidence and a clearer understanding of how data supports decision-making,” he reflects. 

Bright is known for being adaptable and solution-oriented, qualities that became evident when he was asked to take on a new technical task with limited experience. By independently learning new tools and techniques, he was able to meet deadlines and contribute effectively to his team. This proactive attitude defines his approach to challenges. 

With a goal of working in data analytics, Bright is looking for a position that allows him to use tools like Power BI, SQL and Python to produce meaningful insights and support strategic decisions. He brings a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative spirit and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
