Meet Binushi Masha Wijayakumar

With a background in international business and a growing interest in data-driven strategy, Binushi Wijayakumar is preparing for the next stage of her professional journey. Originally from Sri Lanka, she is currently pursuing her MBA (Master of Business Management) in Data Analytics at Wittenborg.
Before joining Wittenborg, Binushi studied in Australia, earning a Bachelor of Commerce with a dual major in International Business and Hospitality from Edith Cowan University in Perth. She also completed a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Commerce at Edith Cowan College.
Her choice to pursue further education in the Netherlands was motivated by the country’s innovation-driven mindset and international opportunities in business and tech. She also values Wittenborg’s flexible structure and multicultural environment. “I am passionate about combining business strategy with data-driven decision-making,” Binushi explains.
During her studies, Binushi has developed key skills in analytical thinking, data interpretation, strategic planning and intercultural communication. Her academic work has helped her apply theoretical knowledge to practical business challenges.
Binushi brings previous work and internship experience in customer service, data entry, and administration, where she gained confidence in fast-paced and multicultural workplaces. “I took the challenge on by asking questions, observing and researching independently,” she says about adapting to new tasks. “I welcomed any feedback to adjust my processes and was able to act efficiently, very quickly.”
Looking ahead, Binushi is open to full-time or part-time roles in data analysis, project support, operations or administrative roles. She hopes to “develop and grow in a rapid-paced environment where I can use my business and data analytics skill set.”
She stays updated through platforms such as LinkedIn Learning, YouTube channels like CareerVidz and TEDx, and various career blogs. Her friends describe her as “friendly, reliable, focused on goals and always willing to help others,” as well as “calm under pressure and a good listener.”
