Meet Ashok Kumar Mohanty

With over 12 years of corporate experience, Ashok Kumar Mohanty is currently studying for his MBA (Master of Business Administration) in Data Analytics at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences. Originally from India, Ashok holds a Bachelor of Technology and has a strong background in sales, customer success and team management. 

Ashok chose this master’s programme to deepen his understanding of business and gain formal skills in data visualisation. “I want to deepen my understanding about the core of business and grasp formal understanding on data visualisation,” he explains.

At Wittenborg, he has developed knowledge in international business and culture, operations management, human resource management and information management.

In his previous role as Associate Manager of a sales team at Informatica, Ashok led his team through a major shift from a traditional licensing model to a cloud-first approach. “This came up with a massive paradigm shift as the team had to be re-engineered with the new SKUs and to be trained on the negotiation skills which aligned with the vision of the company. As the leader, I put in additional effort to skill up quickly. I made sure that this topic remained as a constant topic of discussion in all the team stand up calls. I arranged additional training sessions to address the gaps,” he says.

He is currently seeking part-time opportunities in customer success and is learning more about Salesforce and related domains. Ashok keeps his skills sharp through platforms such as YouTube, Salesforce Trailhead and SF Ben, as well as exploring AI and prompt engineering.

Friends describe Ashok as someone who easily starts conversations and believes in thinking inside the box before thinking outside it. He values the international environment at Wittenborg, saying it offers a great chance to learn from diverse cultures and professional backgrounds. “This school has provided me with an excellent exposure to a different learning experience. On daily basis, I am surrounded with students from different countries, which is a great opportunity to learn from their professional experience as well as cultural background,” he adds.
