International CHRIE (ICHRIE), a non-profit, professional association, provides programmes and services to continually improve the quality of global education, research, service and business operations in the hospitality and tourism industry. EuroCHRIE is one of its 7 federations.
EuroCHRIE represents over 150 International CHRIE members. The European Federation brings together educators from hospitality, tourism & event management schools and universities into a global network in close co-operation with industry representatives. Under the CHRIE umbrella, both education and industry combine their efforts to shape the future of hospitality, tourism & events.
The EuroCHRIE conference is an annual event organized by the federation. This year’s conference will be held in Apeldoorn on October 24-27 and will be hosted by WUAS.
The theme for EuroCHRIE 2022 “Thrive on Innovation and Entrepreneurship” is about shaping the future of education and industries in the hospitality & tourism, event management and culinary arts sectors. Topics such as data security, robotics, self-service, artificial intelligence, blockchain and social innovation have an impact on all areas. Researchers in the field of tourism and hospitality can submit their papers and posters in one of 10 research tracks. The deadline for submission is passed. However, if you are still interested in submitting symposium/workshop proposals, you can email us via eurochrie2022@wittenborg.eu
In addition to the scientific programme, the delegates will also have a chance to explore Apeldoorn. The host has developed social programmes for the pre-conference day (October 24) that include top highlights of the region, 3-day spouse programme for delegate-accompanying persons to visit other Dutch cities and a Food & Wine tasting programme to explore local cuisine. The conference will also be a great opportunity for WUAS students to gain hands-on experience in the planning and delivery of such a large-scale international event. Hospitality students will be involved in the event as part of their project week and will be able to become a part of the delivery team. As of May, our team has grown with the appointment of a new intern whose main task is to support the organisation of the conference.
The Scientific Committee has formed the board of reviewers and the works on the paper and poster review has already started. The registration to the conference will be opened on first week of May. The delegates can attend the whole conference or choose to join on a specific day.
