Academic & Research Partners

Our partnerships

Our Academic Partnerships are focussed and defined by our participation in Erasmus+, AACSB, and EFMD networks of universities and business schools. Our academic partnerships must provide value to our development as an international business school and the overall execution of our strategic plan

Within Erasmus+ we collaborate with partners, either by initiating research project funding and inviting existing or new partners to join us, or by joining existing projects and forging new partnerships. The criteria for venturing into new partnerships and maintaining existing partnerships are described in our Erasmus+ policy, and are directly derived from our mission and vision, supported by our values.

Whilst being a business school, our Erasmus+ research projects, and the partnerships we have established within them are not always directly related to business, however often related to our values of internationalisation diversity and ethics, within a higher education framework. An overview of ongoing Erasmus+ projects and our partnerships within these projects can be found here: https://www.wittenborg.eu/erasmus-plus-policy-statement-wuas.htm

Our participation in the Erasmus+ also extends to student and staff mobility and several our partners outside of the research projects also work with us on mobility. We also have a number of Academic Partners outside of the European Erasmus project, however since becoming members of AACSB and EFMD, this is our policy to give priority to partnerships within these networks.

Research and Development Networks

An important network in which Wittenborg and its staff maintain and establish new partnerships is the European Association of International Education (EAIE), which also holds a large conference yearly.

Wittenborg is also involved in the board of EuroCHRIEa European association for hospitality and tourism educators in the higher education sector, that also holds a conference on a yearly basis and supports the publication of research in the sector. Within EuroChrie, and its parent ICHRIE, we have also established a number of long-term key academic partnerships.

Are you interested in our academic partnerships, or would you like to become a partner then please contact our partnership desk at academic-partners@wittenborg.eu

Georgian American University - Erasmus+ Partner (Georgia)

From its origin, GAU has experienced many changes, challenges and successes. Where the market so demands, new programs have been introduced, further developing and improving existing programs.  The drive for perfection of the educational process as well as the management of the University is instilled in each Founder, Board Member, Faculty and Staff member.

GAU has one of, if not the highest placement rates of its students and graduates in Georgia due in part to the exceptional professional and practical skills developed as well as the concentration of professional English.

In the 2011/2012 academic year, GAU added the International Relations and Diplomacy Program to its Law School, resulting in the name change to the Law and Social Sciences School. In the 2012/2013 academic year, due to the successful performances of both its Business and Law Schools and considering state priorities and market demand, GAU opened the Natural Sciences and Engineering School. In the 2013-14 academic year, GAU added the Liberal Education and Humanitarian Sciences School.

On a regular basis, GAU students are given unique opportunities through internships to work with local organizations. GAU students are also able to participate in foreign university exchange programs.

For the 2012/2013 academic year, GAU moved to a new campus location (10 Merab Aleksidze St.) which was more in line with its high university standards. The 6,000 sq.m. building contains large classrooms, a modern library/computer laboratory, a café, gym and auditoriums. This, together with expansive grounds creates a pleasant and productive academic environment.

John von Neumann University (Hungary)

With its extensive network of contacts, John von Neumann University is firmly embedded in its socio-economic environment. The strategic partners of the institution are the Municipality of Kecskemét, Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft., the Hungarian National Bank, Knorr-Bremse Fékrendszerek Kft., Univer Product Zrt., Deltaplast Kft. and Bács-Zöldért Zrt. Co-op Hungary Zrt., CLAAS HUNGÁRIA Kft. and BI-KA Logisztika Kft. The close cooperation is reflected in the cooperation agreements that were signed.

The University has numerous bilateral partnerships with companies and farmers in the region: it takes the needs of the economy into account to a large extent with its educational and research development activities, while it relies on and builds on the opportunities offered by companies and farmers in the region for practical training at the same time. A new type of close contact with economic operators is the introduction of dual training, in which companies participate as educational partners. Students spend half of their study time at a company, which employs the full-time student under a student employment contract. This type of training is more responsive than ever to the needs of the economy and strengthens the University's links with companies.

The University has extensive links in the educational sector too: it cooperates not only with higher educational and public education institutions, but also adult education centres. Successful joint educational programmes, research collaborations and grant projects are milestones of the partnership.

Many professional and non-governmental organisations are partners of John von Neumann University, as well as the media – on local, regional, and national levels.

In the field of international cooperation, we have bilateral agreements with more than forty partners in the SOCRATES/ERASMUS programme, but in addition to that, individual faculties have also established international links through exchange programmes, grant and research cooperation.
