Dr. Steven Goss-Turner holds degrees in management and organizational behaviour from the Universities of Strathclyde and Portsmouth, completing a PhD at the University of Brighton on the topic of the relationship between organizational culture and labour turnover in the hospitality workplace. Before an academic career began in 1991, he worked within the international hotel and leisure industry, predominantly within human resource management (HRM) positions. His research and publication outputs have particularly emphasized a deep interest in HRM and workplace culture within service industries, especially within international, multi-site service organizations. He is the author and co-author of eight books in the area of people management, including a forthcoming 10th edition of ‘Human Resource Management in the Hospitality Industry’, co-authored with Michael Boella, to be published by Routledge in 2019. Following retirement from a full-time position at the University of Brighton in 2018, Steven was appointed as Honorary Research Fellow.
