Milena van Voorden is an experienced scholar in law. She holds a PhD and a master's degree in Legal Sciences and she has been teaching since 2009, when she enrolled in a PhD program at her Alma Mater - the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland. Until 2016, she also worked as a freelance English teacher and translator, and as a Junior Chief Accountant in a private accounting firm. Currently, she is a lecturer at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in Apeldoorn and at NHTV University of Applied Sciences in Breda.
Despite specialising in criminal law and criminal proceedings, Milena is passionate about many different aspects of law. She is continuously learning and broadening her field of expertise. She also holds many different certificates, including language certificates, and official teaching and accounting permits. In Wittenborg, she is a lecturer in several law modules, as well as an Academic Supervisor. She strongly believes in an open-door policy and is always willing to help students who might have legal interests or questions.


Milena has published 7 articles focused on different legal issues, mainly in the field of military criminal law, criminal law and proceedings, and their legal aspects.
Currently, she is focusing on her own development and planning to do more research in the field of Sports Law and the quickly developing eSports Law, also strongly connected with her private interests.
