Arie T. Barendregt, PhD, has been active in business-to-business sales and marketing management since 1980 all over Europe as well as the US. After completing his postgraduate marketing NIMA-C in 1994, Arie finished his MBA with distinction at Kingston University, UK, in 1996, studying how a medium-size packaging printing company could make a successful market entry into the German market.
In May 2008, he received the highest marketing title in the Netherlands, Register Marketeer (RM). He obtained a DBA (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration degree at Kingston University in January 2011 for his research ‘Do Small Enterprises Study Their Competitors?’ about the hitherto unknown competitor-study practices of small Dutch business-to-business enterprises.
Arie is Professor of Strategy and Competition, Marketing Management as well as Managerial Economics in the Executive MBA programme and the MA programme of Webster University, the Netherlands, the master’s programmes of Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, NTI, the Netherlands, as well as Erasmus School of Economics of the Erasmus University, the Netherlands. He supervises the writing of the final MBA theses and is also active as an examiner. Arie has published on strategy, marketing and competition in various publications.
