The International Business Administration (IBA) Bachelor degree programme with specialisation in Hospitality Management, combined with the BA Hons in International Hospitality Management is aimed at students who are wanting to follow a management career in the service industry, in an internationally focused organisation or enterprise. The current Hospitality, Tourism and Lesure sector is looking at branding and sustainability, talent management and strengthening marketing and sales. An IBA graduate specialised in Hospitality Management will understand all these issues!
This degree programme leads to a Business Administration career in the exciting profession of hospitality management or tourism. Business travel and renewed interest in domestic and foreign tourism is increasing the demand for hospitality managers in hotels, event spaces, and food service companies. The International Business Administration (IBA) Bachelor Degree with a specialisation in Hospitality Management will introduce students to the management aspects required to oversee the everyday operations of resorts, gaming venues, and banquet facilities, or the management of specialty event-planning departments of schools, healthcare organizations, and businesses.
- The Euro BA - a 3 Year Double Degree - IBA Hospitality Management / BA Hons degree in International Hospitality Management -
The Euro BA is for the true international student! This 3 Year Double Degree combines Wittenborg's IBA Hospitality Management degree (240 credits) with the Bachelor Hons degree, awarded by the University of Brighton, requires students to study the programme in 3 different countries:
Year 1 kicks off in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, at Wittenborg University. Students will study Year 2 at ANGELL Business School, in Freiburg, Germany. The 2nd year ends with a work placement. Year 3 sees students spend Semester 1 at the University of Brighton (UK) and returning to Apeldoorn for the final semester to gain their double degree.
The Hospitality, Tourism and Service Sector industries remain the fastest growing sectors in the world, with countries such as China and India developing their internal markets, and companies in Europe and the US focusing on brand development in a worldwide presence.
The Euro BA in International Hospitality Management and the IBA in Hospitality Management programme covers the business manager’s role in the world of hotels and travel. We look especially at a leisure-orientated market from an international perspective. You will learn that hotel chains are companies like any other, that macro and micro demographics cause changes in direction and policy - just as in any other industry.
You will study the administrative processes involved in hotel management and catering, discovering the special importance of human resource management, marketing and quality control in this leading business segment. You will also gain an accurate insight into the changing global scene in the tourist industry, focusing on the opportunities, as well as some of the risks, associated with this exciting market.
The programme includes modules such as Hospitality Operations, Hotel Management, Service Management, and also areas such as International Standards and Law in Tourism, Economics and Tourism and Strategic Management in the Hotel Industry. Students will be expected to fulfil a work experience position in a company such as a restaurant, hotel or travel agency in which they will discover and learn about the business administration in these industries.

Direct Entry to IBA Final Year (Top-up) degree programmes (Advanced Placement)
Students with successful study experience equivalent to 160 European Credits (2 - 3 Years Higher Education) in a related business or economic field are able to enter directly into the Final year programme (80 credits, 1-2 years). The judgement of entry qualifications for non-Dutch applicants is based on NARIC - UK NARIC and / or the Nuffic Country Modules and a Nuffic evaluation, if required.
In some individual cases, the Graduation and Examination Board will also decide on entry based on credit transcripts and qualifications presented.
For top-up courses we can consider the BTEC Higher National Diploma (3 year Diploma) holders for entry into IBA Final Year (Top-up) degree programme depending on subjects studied.
Note: we can consider the BTEC National Diploma (2 year Diploma), combined with MBO4 Certificate holders for entry into IBA Phase 2 degree programme depending on subjects studied.
For top-up courses we can consider Dazhuan (Zhuanke - 3 year Diploma) holders for entry into the IBA Final Year (Top-up) degree programme if the Dazhuan has been completed in a field of Business & Economics.
Students transferring from Swiss Colleges will always be required to present their transcripts to the Graduation and Examination Board, through the admissions office at Wittenborg. The Graduation and Examination Board will make an independent decision on entry based on an individual students previous study.

As a result, there is a shortage and therefore, a demand for talented, qualified and competent professionals within the industry, especially graduates who have learned to work hard, take responsibility and lead the way - Wittenborg graduates!
Wittenborg graduates can be found in both the hotel and the tourism industries, working in international companies such as Hilton and Radisson, but also operating their own tourism companies either in the Netherlands or abroad.
