Team Building

1-2 days or project based

The one-day workshop is ideal as a compliment for a kick off meeting or a meeting where the focus is on work and it is broken up and given some flavour by training. It is an introduction into the Belbin team role theory. Dr Belbin’s theories, developed over years in Cambridge and at the Henley Management Institute, have resulted in possibly the most user-friendly team methodology to date, and the positive impact on a working environment and are seen instantly, simply as a result of the new sense of awareness that it enables.
In the 2-day workshop, we focus more in the elements of trust, acceptance, function, skill, hierarchy and competence that are the ingredients for a “real” team, and this would usually be the beginning of a concrete team project.
Before the seminar, the participants complete an online evaluator, and from these results we compile a profile that gives the individual a picture of themselves. This can also be done by a number of friends and colleagues to gain a better result.
SEMINAR PARTICIPANTS LEARN TO:
· UNDERSTAND THE CHARACHTERISTICS OF THE DIFFERENT TEAM ROLES
· UNDERTSAND THEIR OWN AND OTHERS’ ALLOWABLE WEAKNESSES
· THINK OF THEIR JOBS IN THE TERMS OF THE TEAM ROLES
· DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN EFFECTIVE WORKGROUPS AND TEAMS
· IDENTIFY AREAS OF CONFLICT BETWEEN VARIOUS TEAM TYPES, AND DEVELOP STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION CHANNELS
