Effective leaders work in many styles. A common characteristic of all of them is a high degree of emotional intelligence, which is the ability to use their emotions, feelings, moods - and those of others - as a source of information to help them navigate through business more effectively. There is now a large deal of research showing that emotional intelligence is more important than technical skills, or traditional cognitive skills, in shaping our leadership effectiveness. There are also studies showing that an organization's success is directly related to the emotional intelligence level of its leaders. As the business environment continues to get more complex, emotional intelligence skills will become increasingly important in determining which leaders succeed. This two day course will help leaders develop their emotional intelligence. The course participants will assess, develop, and apply their own emotional intelligence and will learn how to cultivate emotional intelligence in their teams.
