Dr. Alexander Bauer has many years of working experience in international sales and marketing and combines this practical experience with an academic background (PhD in International Business Management). Dr. Bauer is always up for adventure and has a healthy doses of curiosity which according to him is the right setup for a lecturer and researcher.
Dr. Bauer has always been an adventurer trying new things – and he believes he will ever be. Right after school, he decided to join the German Navy (a military service) to see the world and having the first great adventure, followed by a few months of work in the US. He started his first degree study of Business Management with a major in Marketing in Germany with abroad stays in Belgium and Estonia. His first job as a Sales Manager in an industrial company broadened his international experience with work placements in Great Britain and Malaysia – followed by long years of sales, trading and marketing experience in various regions of the world (Europe, South East Asia and India, Middle East and Central America and Mexico). With this strong practical international experience and his natural curiosity, he also wanted to strengthen his academic background and decided to use his international marketing experience to study again and graduated with a PhD in International Business Management. Feeling in 2014 that it was time for a change – a new adventure – he decided to become a lecturer and brought his international Sales & Marketing and Management experience into the Wittenborg classroom. Besides being a lecturer Dr. Bauer is also involved in the Wittenborg Research Centre.
