Background

Adeyemi Banjo, MSc, MBA, comes from a multidisciplinary background. He first graduated from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1991, with a BSc in Psychology. After working for a couple of years, he decided to further his studies and was able to obtain degrees in informatics and engineering management from Saxion University, the Netherlands, a master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lincoln, UK, and an MSc in communication studies (News Media) from the University of Twente, the Netherlands.

Adeyemi started his career in 1991 working in marketing for the book publisher African University Press. He later moved to the media company OPEN Communications in Nigeria where he worked in various capacities until he left in 1999 for further studies in the Netherlands. From 2002 to 2004, he taught computing skills and held consulting hours on a part-time basis for IBMS students of Saxion University.

He also helped start up a marketing company, JAA, with three other partners within the same period. In 2004, as an MSc intern, he was involved in the personalisation project of the ABN AMRO online banking system. In 2008, he left JAA to work as an analyst and researcher for Huisvolmuziek and in 2009 started his own company, which specialises in marketing research and personalisation.

In 2010, he joined Wittenborg where he has been lecturing to date in the fields of Communications, Informatics, Entrepreneurship and Marketing.
