Student Housing and Accommodation in Apeldoorn

In Apeldoorn, Wittenborg provides all its arriving international students with accommodation as part of the package fee for entering students. It also arranges accommodation for Dutch and "home" international students on request.

For Student Housing in Apeldoorn Wittenborg has joined forces with the government housing corporations which will provide standard student accommodation to national and international students.

Student housing in the Netherlands is often in so-called "student houses", which generally means three to five students sharing a house or apartment with cooking and bathroom facilities. International students are often required to share a room with one other student. It is common that men and women students live together in the same student house.

There is an acute housing shortage in the Netherlands, which means that it is not always easy for students from abroad to arrange housing for themselves before entering the country to study. Students are obliged to stay in the first student house (arranged for by the school) for 3 months and then free to find housing themselves afterwards.

Students will be guaranteed of a room 2 weeks prior to the course starting dates if the visa approval from immigration services is on time.

The housing contract is between Wittenborg and the Student, and is not dependant on a particular address. Wittenborg has the right to relocate students during their period of stay in Wittenborg accommodations, if the need arises, due to changes in housing requirements or availability. All housing is subject to the housing rules and regulations, published on Intranet, and provided to students on entry.

Students are required to keep in contact with International Office of Wittenborg and housing department during the visa picking-up period.

If a student wants to remain in the current room after 3 months of stay, the rent of this room will be reduced to a lower level. The rate for share room, single room and larger single room varies.

Basic Provisions of a Wittenborg Housing Unit:

Standard Student Housing will consist of single or shared rooms with communal cooking areas, however not necessarily central dining area or living room. Students will be provided with furnished rooms. All housing will be in the town of Apeldoorn itself and within 10 minutes of cycling distance of the University campus, as well as the town centre.

Please note: after the move to its new building in Apeldoorn, Wittenborg University no longer supplies students with housing in Deventer.
